This  work investigates the Brazilian  Farming Industry of the  corn, giving  larger emphasis in the  milling segment for the process to the dry. It’s analyzes, firstly, the world and national scenery of  the corn, detaching  the evolution  to the production  of the cereal  and pointing the largest producing countries. Later it makes  a characterization of the industrial section of  corn processing, identifying the two types  of existent companies in the market; the one of rations  and the  one of industrial grinding, this last one divides in  two grinding processes ( the humid and dry). The research is based in Joseph Alois Schumpeter  work, “The theory of the economical development” , published  originally  in 1911, where the author points out the importance of the technological innovations and of the differentiation of products in the companies  as main factor of economical development. It’s identifies, though field research accomplished , the presence of  the “entrepreneur  schumpeteriano“ in the analyzed  section, as  well as it describes the strategies  used by them to win a larger  space in the market .
