In this study, the dynamics of income mobility in Brazil, from 2002 to 2015, were analyzed based on PME data. Decent mobility has been identified in the period 2014-2015, a fact that has not occurred since the 2003-2004 biennium, so that women, the less qualified and those in the more advanced age groups are vulnerable groups, since they have greater downward directional mobility. In addition, despite the fact that income inequality has declined from 2002 to 2015, and the existence of income mobility in Brazil, some factors already show the first effects of the Brazilian economic crisis on the equalization of income. In this sense, income mobility may be contributing to soften the reflexes of low economic performance, but it is important that public policies are cautious about the problems of the social sphere, given that the crisis can reverse the gains obtained until today.
