This Research has as objective to carry through an analysis on supervision and regulation in the brazilian banking sector after Real Plan, to the light of the economic theory and the adhesion of the international standards of regulation and supervision in Brazil, as well as the influence in the administration of financial crises. Therefore the necessity of understanding: i) the importance of the banks; ii) how and why the financial and banking crises in the country and the exterior occur; iii) the ways of regulator and supervisor to act; iv) the instruments to prevent the crises and the prudential regulation; v) the process of adaptation of Brazil to the new standards of international regulation, in special, the tack to the Basle Accord; e vi) to verify the methods used to prevent the aggravation of the brazilian banking crisis after Real Plan. For in such a way, it was necessary to investigate the importance of the banking sector in the contemporaries economies, to verify the theories about financial and banking crises, to develop an interpretation of the supervision and regulation on bankings and to analyze the implementation of the instruments used in Brazil in face of the crisis and the adaptation of the Basle Accord in the country. Through the study of the conjuncture of the period, it was verified that the administration of the crisis and its unfoldings in effective terms of supervision and regulation had happened in stages. The project consisted in reorganize and sanear the sector, in face of the crisis, with instruments as the PROER. Later, try to give robustness o the internal banking market to accomplish the opening of the capital account. In last instance, however concomitantly the other stages, fortified the regulatory and supervisor mechanisms taking it it in auto level of ability and efficiency. This soundness happened of fast and effective form. Brazil left an recuperating intervention for the always intent looks of the Brazilian Central Bank.
