This work analyzes the determinant of the revenue inequality for the South area of Brazil in the period from 1992 to 2001, with base in information of the national research for sample of homes. They went you study the variables age, escolaridade, gender, color, position in the occupation, section, work day and state through the analysis of the gross and marginal contribution of each variable, as well as by means of equations of revenues. The results aim the education as the main source of the inequality of revenues among the workers, in spite of the significant increase of the number of people with larger educational levels. It could also be observed the existence of gender discrimination and color in the area and that the inequality among the states contributed a little to the explanation of the inequality of revenues.
