This dissertation has as objective analyzes the effects that the commercial opening brought for the compound of the Brazilian soy, comparing the acting of the compound in the international market, before and after the commercial opening in the period from 1985 to 2002. For the attainment of the delineated objective, it was used the analysis of opening degree and the indicator of competitiveness. The results showed expressive won of competitiveness for the soy in grain, the other sections of the compound of the soy didn't present won. However, those earnings were reached through great effort exporter. The analysis of opening degree showed that there was an increase in the production interns in the compound of the soy and mainly in the soy section in grains, but even with this increase, the compound of the soy still continues closed, tends only the section of soy crumb presented coefficient of high opening degree.
